What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it?
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser user agent’s chain to help detect spam.
If you upload images to the website, avoid downloading images containing built-in location data (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download and extract all location data from the site’s images.
If you leave a comment on our website, you can choose to register your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your contact information when you leave another comment. These cookies will last a year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also configure several cookies to save your login information and your display choices on the screen. Connection cookies last two days and screen cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your ID will be kept for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the ID of the item you have just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Built-in content from other websites
Articles on this site may include built-in content (videos, images, articles, etc.). The built-in content of other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.
How long do we keep your data?
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve all follow-up comments instead of keeping them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also keep the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.
What rights do you have over your data?
If you have an account on this site or if you have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of personal data that we hold about you, including the data you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete all personal data that we hold about you. This does not include data that we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where do we send your data?
Visitor feedback can be verified via an automated spam detection service.
